Every year, on June 24, the day of Sanziene according to a traditional pre-Christian calendar, the most beautiful festival in Craiova takes place. Under the organization of the Craiova City Hall, the Dolj County Council and the "Maria Tanase" Folk Ensemble, the city's residents dress in traditional Romanian clothes, forming a parade that crosses the city from Mihai Viteazul Square to Romanescu Park. The star of this festival is IA, a white shirt sewn with traditional motifs, worn by both women and men, but different as a decorative model, which comes from the mists of time. The color and beauty of the folk costumes are enchanting. At the end of the parade, in the Romanescu Park, there is an exhibition selling traditional Romanian clothes and a folklore show presenting music and games from the Oltenia region.
